Making the Cookie Dough

For Ingredients for the chocolate chip cookie I just use the standard Toll House Chocolate Chips recipe on the back of the bag of semi sweet chocolate chips.
- 2 1/4cups Flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 sticks of butter (melted is best)
- 1 teaspoon of Vanilla
- 1 whole bag of chocolate chips, but this doesn't need to be listed you will probably be making this recipe off the back of the bag as well so need to print this out, it will be ready for when you buy the chocolate chips.
It is critical that when preparing the cookie dough that you first sift the flour, salt, and baking soda, the flour in today's supermarkets is not the same quality it used and if you are using just standard flour which is fine it is good to sift it to make it lighter.
I also melt the butter when making the cookies as I find it helps to make the dough come together much easier.
But this is cookies so in the end so if you want you can just dump all the ingredients into the bowl and start mixing and it will still turn out alright, but I prefer to go in my order listed in the pictures as it works well for me and the bake really nice.

The process of making the heart shaped cookie is pretty easy even if you do not have a heart shaped cookie mold, which most people dont just have laying around. Bake the cookie in the oven for around 12 - 14 minutes if you went for a large cookie at 375 degrees which is the nirmal toll house cookie recipe recommendation.
With paper create a stencil in the shape of a heart that you can use to cut out the cookie into a heart. I cut when the cookie was still warm it had cooled for a couple minutes, but was still really warm. The cut off pieces can be eaten immediately or saved for a later treat. But what the heck you are working hard on a cookie treat for your valentine so enjoy a little and eat some of the ends.
